Year-Round On-Line buy back

Did you know that now you can sell back your textbooks on-line?  The Campus Bookstore has partnered with MBS Books to give you the opportunity to sell back your textbooks any time day or night all year round!  Simply follow the link below, read all instructions carefully, and enter required information.  The web page will then tell you how much your books are worth, and will provide you with printable shipping labels.  Print the label, package the books per their instructions, attach the label, and bring to your nearest UPS store, free of charge.  In a couple of weeks, if everything is in order, you will receive a check from MBS books!  Keep in mind that this service is provided by MBS books, so if you experience any problems with the process, you will need to address them with MBS, not the Campus Bookstore.  This is just a way we are trying to help you maximize your opportunity to sell back your books.  The web page is here:

Subject Line:  Please Verify Address-Action Required

We are writing to you today because we need your help.  Over the last year MnSCU has merged shared data into one core record for all of the colleges and universities.  You may notice that all of a sudden your address has changed, even if you haven’t moved recently.  It may even be from a time when you attended another MnSCU institution.  For this reason we are asking you to view and edit (if needed) your address information.

It is very important that you check your address(es) so that we have the most up-to-date information.
When the College sends postal information to you and you have more than one address type, we follow the following priority in choosing the address.  We send postal communications first to (1) your current local address and if there is no current local address, to (2) your permanent address.  (The majority of students have just one mailing address type and that address is entered as the permanent address.  The local address type is used for students who have moved to the area to attend the college.)

It is your responsibility to keep your address current.  In an effort to serve you better, every term we ask that you view and edit (if needed) your address(es) online.  To view and edit your address(es) go to: http://www.century.edu/currentstudents/records/updatepersonalinfo.aspx and follow the instructions for Address Changes.  Please review and make changes as needed in the next 7 days.

HEALTH & WELLNESS:

l.jpgTomato and Basil Soup

2 C sliced leeks
4 oz. butter
3 quarts beef broth
2-16oz cans whole tomatoes, diced, reserve the juice
1/3 C red wine vinegar
1/2 C sugar
1/3 C white wine
1/4 C corn starch
1 C firmly packed fresh basil leaves
1 star anise (found in Asian groceries)

Sauté leeks in butter until soft.  Add the broth, diced tomatoes, vinegar, sugar and wine.  Simmer, covered partially for 25 minutes.  Mix together the corn starch and reserved juice from the canned tomatoes.  Add this to the soup.  Bring soup back to a boil (do not boil heavily).  Add the basil, anise, and season with salt and pepper.

Makes one large pot.
